THEY'RE COMING BACK LIVES THEY'RE COMING VEILS BACK THEY'RE COMING BACK ELVIS THEY'RE COMING BACK THEY'RE COMING BACK LIVES THEY'RE COMING VEILS BACK THEY'RE COMING BACK ELVIS THEY'RE COMING BACK

Time to go back to being Elvis”

- Elvis Presley on being found crying in a bathroom

IMPERSON IN PERSON! is a supernormal stimulating extravaganza exploiting and resurrecting the dying sun god of popular adulation VEILS_YR_SLEEP, from Memphis (Egypt) to Vegas to live on stage, baby.

Inspired by Niko Tinbergen’s studies on supernormal stimulus and exploring how revolutionary ideas are commodified then sold back as a substitute for genuine systematic change, baby. Journeying through primordial loneliness, cultural appropriation, imposter syndrome, toxic masculinity and abusers in positions of power to deliver you your broken cultural idol/idle/ideal, baby.

Evolving from “taking care of business” which debuted at National Theatre of Scotland’s Just Start Here Festival 2020 and “veils_yr_sleep” which premiered at Alchemy Film and Moving Image Festival 2021, baby.

The King is coming back baby…

Sweætshops®

Sweætshops® is a multipersonality conglomerate creating magickal mystery-shopper plays, ceremonial muzak and public disruptions out of the waste of consumerism and pop culture.

From being banned from the Edinburgh Fringe for their exploration of national identity to being simultaneously legally married and divorced for Brexit, hosting conspiracy matiness for 0-5 year olds and creating a reality TV death cult.

Their work is esoteric, absurd and intense. Variously described as “either a whole load of nonsense pretending to be art or performance art at its best” (The Write Angle) and “varicoloured and raw…the undeniable energy of a high doom” (Phasmid Press).
