FESTIVAL 2023 // VENUES & TEch Info
The 2023 Festival will predominantly be based out of Tramway, located in the Southside of Glasgow & the Centre for Contemporary Arts (CCA), based in the City Centre. We will also be heading into the surrounding area of Govanhill, using the many brilliant artist run independent venues and spaces in the area.
We are extremely open to hearing about any other contexts outside of Tramway & CCA you may wish to show your work in. This could include spaces like:
Outdoor performance (on the street)
Car parks
Libraries
In the beautiful local Queens Park (including an amphitheatre in its centre)
Church halls
Clubs (we’ll be hosting an end of festival party)
Cafes
Any other ideal contexts you have
We can’t guarantee we’ll get you exactly the space you would like unless it’s listed below, but we will work with you to find the most appropriate context for your work. In non-venue spaces technical support will also need to be extremely basic, probably without power.
We will absolutely do our best to meet your requirements the best we can and make your work look great, however BUZZCUT Festival is not suited to technically heavy theatre shows with lots of cues and technical needs (you should email about our separate studio programme Double Thrills if that’s more your thing). You should work to the assumption that you would get around 2 hours technical rehearsal time with a technician, although more time may be available once we are aware of the full production schedule. You will have regular contact with our Festival production manager who will prep as much as possible for you before you arrive.
All venues are wheelchair accessible and any other venue we source will also be wheelchair accessible. Tramway & CCA have gender neutral toilet facilities.
You can see Tramway’s full access info here.
And CCA’s Access info here.
